On the 20th of April, several organisations representing the subcontracting industries met with NECA to discuss a joint approach to responding to the Governments request for input around Securities of Payment.
The group consisting of Civil Contractors, ETU, EIV, Master Plumbers, National Fire Industry Association, NESMA, RACA, amongst others, joined NECA to discuss current industry challenges in the context of Victorian Security of Payment laws.
The group considered current and active conversations surrounding National SoP laws, reviewed several of the Murray Report recommendations, as well as deliberated on some of the existing gaps and challenges in legislation which impact participants in each of the industry subcontractor cohorts.
A submission is now being drafted with the intent of submitting to government with joint signatures and logos to increase the strength of a united view.
